WCFR Gala 2024 Humanitarian of the Year - Dr. Icilma Fergus Rowe, MD

The WCFR "Great Gatsby" themed 10+3 Anniversary & Fundraising Gala ~ Presented by Mount Sinai Fuster Heart Hospital will be on 9.21.24.

Nyack, N.Y. (September 3, 2024) – Join Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 for their “Great Gatsby” themed 10+3 Anniversary & Fundraising Gala. The gala will bring together like-minded individuals and businesses who share the same belief that education and training can help save lives, while celebrating the organization's accomplishments and honoring their lifesaving partners. The event, from 7-11:30Pm, will be held on Saturday, September 21st, 2024 at The Nyack Seaport. Attendees can expect a cocktail hour, live entertainment, and dinner.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. proudly announces one of its “Great Gatsby” themed 10+3 Anniversary & Fundraising Gala honorees, Humanitarian of the Year, Dr. Icilma Fergus Rowe, MD. WCFR is grateful for Dr. Fergus. She has supported us by increasing awareness of our mission "to prevent deaths worldwide through education and training", providing education about heart health in-person and remotely at our events to save lives.

Dr. Fergus is a board-certified professional in Internal Medicine and Cardiology, currently serving as the Director of Hypertension and Lipidology in the Division of Cardiology at Mount Sinai since 2021. Her expertise lies in Preventative Cardiology, specifically focusing on Lipids and Hypertension, Women’s Heart Disease, and Cardiovascular Health Advocacy.

With an active engagement in professional organizations, Dr. Fergus holds significant roles such as the immediate past President of the Westchester board of the American College of Cardiology and past president of the Association of Black Cardiologists. She is also a dedicated member of Jack and Jill of America, incorporated, and serves as the President of the Jack and Jill Foundation.

Beyond her professional commitments, Dr. Fergus passionately advocates for health equity and cardiac disease prevention. Her impactful contributions have been recognized through numerous awards, including the Luminary Award from the American Heart Association in 2016 and the Community Service Award from the Heart Valve Society of America in 2021.

Worldwide Community First Responder, Inc. was founded in September 2011 with a mission "to prevent deaths worldwide through education and training". Their programs have proven to empower individuals in their own community and save lives. WCFR has educated and trained over 400,000 people worldwide. All funds raised at the gala will support their programs that save lives.
