West Nyack Fourth-Graders Learn About Money

Dr. Charlotte Frank was a guest speaker at West Nyack Elementary School on Thursday

Partners For Global Education Committee Chair Dr. Charlotte Frank visited fourth grade students at West Nyack Elementary School on Thursday to teach them about money.

Frank met in the library with 52 students, where she read from a book called “Nickels, Dimes and Dollars: A Wise Kid’s Guide To Money Matters” by Ellen Sabin. She asked the students questions about various money-related topics, from which presidents are on which denominations of money to what people can do with money. They went over the history of currency, as well as different currency in other counties.

The book is interactive, with spots for the students to fill in answers on their own. Each student was given a book to work on in class with their teachers.

The Partners For Global Education Committee is locally connected to the America-Israel Friendship League.
