Long Island Swim School

Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Our goal driven and technique oriented approach is the key to your child's success. Through skill based quality teaching our students develop a joy for learning and a passion for swimming. At Long Island Swim School, we teach children to swim the same way the best in the world do. By using age-appropriate, proven techniques children build real skills in kick, pull, body position, and breath control. Assistant secretary of the New Hyde Park Chamber of Commerce Jerry Baldassaro announced a new initiative to reward local store-owners who have nice window displays at the group's year-end dinner﻿ at restaurant. Beginning in January, some of the most attractive storefronts in the area will receive the platinum storefront plaque. To be eligible for the award, a shop's storefront has to be visible to the public and must be both clean and have a nice presentation, Baldassaro explained. In January 2012, there will be a best of the best award given. There were also five board members who were renominated at the dinner -- including Cheryl Fajardo, Reena Gulati, William Morales, Rocco Orlando and Ralph Ventura -- as well as two new board members, Norman Dawson and Larry Armstrong, who were approved. Florence Giannattasio﻿, 92, was given an honorary board membership for her contributions and long span of service to the Chamber.
