Oriental medicine can improve the health and quality of life of women or men undergoing conventional medical treatments for breast cancer. The melding of Oriental and conventional medicine creates a dynamic duo in breast cancer treatment. OM has various modes of treatment that include: acupuncture, massage, Chinese herbs, moxibustion, qi gong (a movement and breath exercise), dietary and lifestyle recommendations and more. Breast cancer patients are invited to see some of these modalities demonstrated and enjoy an evening of balance and relaxation. The workshop is conducted by Liz Snow, BS, MS, an Oriental medicine practitioner with a private practice in East Norwich. She is a nationally certified diplomate in acupuncture and Chinese herbology and is also a qi gong practitioner and instructor. Ms. Snow was a member of a task force that developed Oriental medicine protocols for treating breast cancer survivors and is a breast cancer survivor.
