Free Workshop on Spirituality and Serious Illness for Breast Cancer Patients and Their Loved Ones.

A panel of religious leaders will present their religion’s response to serious illness. Panelists are: Imam Shamsi Ali, Rabbi Tara Feldman and Fr. Irinel Racos. Imam Shamsi Ali is imam of the Islamic Cultural Center of New York, the City's largest mosque. He has lectured in churches and synagogues and other institutions around the nation and the world. Father Irinel Racos has been the Associate Pastor at St. Matthew's Parish in Dix Hills since his ordination in 2002. Before coming to the United States, he studied in his native Romania as well as in Rome. Fr. Irinel is an alumnus of the Pontifical University of St. John Lateran and also of the Roman Seminary, which is associated with the University. Rabbi Tara Feldman and her husband are co-senior rabbis at Temple Beth El in Great Neck. She received degrees from Vassar College, Lesley College and Hebrew Union College Jewish Institute of Religion. She and her husband were associate rabbis at Temple Israel in Memphis, TN, and she was a fellow at Hebrew University's Senior Educator's program in Jerusalem.
