Giants Fans Flock to Modell's

in the Lake Success Shopping Center is already stocked up on all Giants fan essentials: shirts, hats, footballs, shot glasses and pennants.

Right at the front of the store is a table filled with these items that proudly display New York Giants 2011 NFC Conference Champions.

One Modell’s employee said they closed the store at 8:30 p.m. last night only to open again at midnight after the game to accommodate extreme fans who wanted to stock up on gear.

“We always open up whenever there is a big sporting game,” the employee said. “Grown men came in like little kids on Christmas morning.”

More merchandise was put out as more and more fans walked in for the hour and a half the store remained open.

“It was crazy here last night,” the Modell’s employee said. “It’ll be just as crazy, if not more, if [the Giants] with the Superbowl; fingers crossed.”
