Herricks Middle School Holds Charity Volleyball Tournament
Middle school staff and parents raise $200 for Project REACH.
The Herricks Middle School staff recently organized a volleyball fundraiser for the students, parents and teachers to raise money for Project REACH.
Reclaiming Every Affected Child's Happiness (R.E.A.C.H.) is a program that evolved from the collective desire of the school community to make a difference in the lives of children in areas severely impacted by Super Storm Sandy and the senseless and horrific school shooting in Newtown, CT.
The night started off with seventh grade girls playing against the seventh grade boys with the girls winning two games to one.
The eighth grade boys were scheduled to play the girls; however, do to scheduling conflicts the boys were victorious on a default.
At the conclusion of the night, the middle school parents took on the middle school staff. The faculty won the first two matches and the parents defeated the teachers in the final match.
This event is just one of many taking place in the school and the group was able to raise over $200.
