Herricks School Budget Passes
The Herricks school budget was passed, while Juleigh Chin was re-elected to the school board.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY--Herricks School District voters approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.
The $117,541,264 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 1,048-420. The budget is a 2.75 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 2.21 percent bump in the tax levy. That is at the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Voters passed Proposition 2 by a count of 1,058-364, which establishes a $10 million capital reserve fund for computer technology, security system upgrades, auditorium, gymnasium and playground renovations as well as roof replacement. The tax levy is not affected.
