The auxiliary police of Nassau County were honored for their service on Thursday evening at .

Officers of the New Hyde Park unit Captain John Concannon and APO Rajinder Gujral received the 300 hours service award. Sargeant Nancy Kraft was recognized for her 10 years of service and APO Karl Haas was recognized for 30 years of service.

In the 37 auxiliary police units in the county, 74,000 hours were volunteered last year by the auxiliary police officers, noted .
