Club was able to donate over $9,000 to various charities throughout 2012-13 school year.

The New Hyde Park Memorial High School Key Club had a very busy year in 2012-13, starting off with a Sandy Relief Drive and ending with the students helping at the Blue and White Special Education Dance.

In between they were very proactive with many events.  Listed are some of the things that Key Club was involved in this year:

  • food drive
  • toy drive
  • sandy relief supply drive
  • faculty basketball game
  • adopt-a-family
  • vegetable seed drive
  • monthly meetings and volunteer work at the Mary Brennan INN soup kitchen
  • various walk-a-thons
  • bake sales
  • dodgeball tournament
  • senior citizen luncheon
  • blue and white dance
Although they do a lot in school, the students are also very involved in Key Club activities outside of school, both during the week and on weekends.  Because of all of their involvement this year, they were recognized by Key Club International as a Distinguished Club and they also won two awards at the annual Key Club Conference.

Through all of the events, sales, denim days, and walk-a-thons the New Hyde Park Key Club was able to donate over $9,000 to various charities, by far the most they have ever donated in a year.

They thank everyone for their help, support and generosity throughout the year.
