New Hyde Park Village Board Notebook: April 2

The New Hyde Park Village Board of Trustees held a meeting on Monday, April 2. Here are some of the things you may have missed.

TVASNAC

• On April 23 the village will be hosting a Town Village Aircraft Safety Noise Abatement Committee (TAVASNEC) meeting in the auditorium.
• Doors will open at 7 p.m. with the start of the meeting at 7:30 p.m.
• Any residents who wish to voice their opinion or learn more about the new airplane routes and noise is encouraged to attend.

License Renewals

• J&R Landscaping & Design (Elmont) and P.G. Landscaping (Mineola) had their landscaping contracts renewed.

Other Board News

• The Kiwanis Club of New Hyde Park-Floral Park is requesting to use the village hall parking lot on Saturday, May 5, with a raindate of May 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. to hold a bicycle collection drive to benefit the Race Chaplaincy at Belmont Racetrack and the Salvation Army.
• The village has hired two new employees, one a full time employee and the other a part-time employee. Both will work with the department of public works.
• A special use public hearing will be held on Tuesday May 1 at 7:30 p.m.
