New Hyde Park Village Board Notebook: Feb. 21

The New Hyde Park Village Board of Trustees held a meeting on Tuesday Feb. 21. Here are some of the things you may have missed.

Use Requests

  • The New Hyde Park Knights of Columbus will use a portion of Memorial Park for their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday March 31 from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. They will use the space behind the concession stand and tennis courts.
  • The New Hyde Park Little League will have their annual parade on April 14. They will begin at 10 a.m. on Leonard Boulevard between Jericho Turnpike and Park Avenue as they head to Michael J. Nuzzi Field.
  • Marcus Christ Hall has been reserved for the Eagle Scout Ceremony for Neil Duggan Jr. on Friday, May 4.

License Renewals

  • The following companies have had their landscaper license renewed: Jose Lawn Care Corporation (Elmont), Alvarado Landscaping (Garden City Park), John Russotto Landscaping (Wantagh), Rosali Landscaping (Queens Village), Valle Greenland Landscaping (Hempstead), Golden Mean Landscaping (Jericho), Rose Garden Landscaping (New Hyde Park), Calabro Landscaping (East Meadow).
  • PCI Contracting Inc. (Woodmere) also had its Carter License renewed.

Zoning Board

  • The zoning board of appeals held a meeting on February 8. The residents at 517 N. 12th Street requested to add a full second story to their home over the existing first floor. The board granted the request.
  • February 21 was the final day to request a tax grievance. At the time of the village board meeting 20 cases had already been presented and four of them were accepted.
