NHP Student Competes in Prestigious Long Island Science, Engineering Fair
Congratulations to salutatorian Carolyn Wilson.
New Hyde Park Memorial High School’s Class of 2016 salutatorian competed alongside 400 other students in 22 different categories in the prestigious Long Island Science and Engineering Fair in February.
Carolyn Wilson is a student in the Science Research Program and spent the summers of both her sophomore and junior years researching her project, “The Effect of Immunomodulatory Drugs on the Pharmacological Induction of Fetal Hemoglobin in Vitro,” at the Feinstein Institute for Medical Research.
Wilson made the top 25 percent of 25 students in the Translational Medical Science category and was invited back to the LISEF finals, which were held on March 10. She ultimately finished in fourth place and received a medal for honorable mention for her great achievement.
