• Police seek woman who defaced St. Michael statue in North New Hyde Park (longislandpress.com) — Police are investigating after a woman allegedly defaced a St. Michael statue on the grounds of Notre Dame Elementary School in North New Hyde Park on August 13. Detectives say the woman fled on foot and are asking anyone with information to contact Nassau County Crime Stoppers or the Third Squad, noting that callers can remain anonymous.
