Man Robs New Hyde Park Bank

This is the second New Hyde Park bank robbery to occur in four days.

NEW HYDE PARK, NY- Police are looking to identify the man who robbed a New Hyde Park bank Monday afternoon.

According to authorities, a man entered Valley National Bank, located at 699 Hillside Ave., approached a 41-year-old female teller and handed her a note demanding money at 4:38 p.m.

The man fled on foot eastbound on Hillside Avenue with an undetermined amount of cash. No injuries were reported.

Police described the robber as white, with a medium build, approximately 6-foot-1, and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball hat, a dark grey scarf across his face, back gloves, black cargo pants and black shoes.

This is the second New Hyde Park bank robbery to occur in four days. Two men robbed a Chase bank at gunpoint Thursday morning.

Detectives request anyone with information regarding Monday’s robbery to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
