Replacement Tanks Approved at New Hyde Park Mobil Station

A change in the number of tanks was approved by the Town of North Hempstead.

The approved of allowing for two tanks of 12,000 and 10,000 gallons respectively to be placed at the Mobil station at 901 Hillside Ave., otherwise known as , will be replacing the current three tanks during its board meeting last Tuesday night.

The Mobil station’s 3 tanks hold 10,000 gallons of fuel. The new tanks at will be double-walled fiberglass.

High Point Engineering Project Manager Kyle Wright, who was representing Mobil, explained to the packed board room that having fewer tanks and a larger tank would reduce the number of deliveries that need to be made.

Councilwoman Lee Seeman explained that this change is being made for “safety” reasons.
