Tractor Trailer Overturns, Spills Gravel on LIE Entrance Ramp

Authorities closed a Long Island Expressway entrance ramp after a tractor trailer carrying gravel overturned Friday morning, police say.

The tractor trailer overturned while attempting to enter the expressway on the eastbound Exit 34 ramp from South Service Road, causing gravel to spill all over at 11:38 a.m., police say.

No other vehicles were involved and no injuries were reported.

The ramp at Exit 34 was closed while authorities cleaned up the mess.
