Inn at New Hyde Park on Wedding Business Trends
More people are planning weddings not as far out time wise.

Last year, the was seeing a number of bookings for weddings that would be years away, perhaps to help couples and families save up for the big event in the down economy. This year, that tide has seemed to turn with bookings returning back to the 2009 trend of more often being a year or less away.
Besides the state of the economy affecting the wedding business, internet research has also changed the way the business works with the wide availability of research material, photos of wedding sites and more on the internet.
"People shop around a lot more to find the right fit," said Janine Sakowich Krafchin, general manager of the Inn. "There are so many options."

One thing that might make the Inn a good fit for people is that Krafchin says a wedding planner isn't necessary if you book at the Inn because "we offer a lot for the package."
That package includes that only one wedding is held at the Inn at a time.

"You're our main event while you're here," Krafchin said.
Another change to the wedding business is that more people seem to be getting married a little older and to be paying for at least a part of the ceremony themselves, Krafchin said.
For couples who are interested in getting married, the Inn still has some Sundays available in 2011 and the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend in 2012. Otherwise there are no Saturdays available from March through August, Krafchin said. There are two Saturdays left in September, 2012 and some Fridays and Sundays are open in 2012 as well.
