10 NY Cities Named Most Diverse In U.S.: Report

WalletHub compared the profiles of more than 500 of the largest cities in the U.S. across five major diversity categories.

Ten cities in New York were named part of "2019’s Most Diverse Cities in the U.S."— a recent study from financial information provider WalletHub. Topping the list was New York City which came in third in the country behind No. 1-ranked Houston, Texas, and No. 2-ranked Jersey City, New Jersey.

The Hudson Valley saw three cities — Yonkers, New Rochelle and Mount Vernon — named as most diverse, along with several upstate communities.

To reach their conclusions, WalletHub compared the profiles of more than 500 of the largest cities in the U.S. across five major diversity categories: "socioeconomic, cultural, economic, household and religious."
