2 Enter Pleas In Stalking That Led To Student's Death
Charges against the student accused of stabbing and killing her classmate are still pending.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Two New Rochelle students have admitted to stalking a fellow student before she was stabbed to death by another student. Westchester County District Attorney Anthony A. Scarpino Jr. said Friday that Dominique Slack, 18, and Carl Booker, 18, both pleaded guilty to first-degree stalking, a felony, for their roles that lead to the death of Valaree Schwab.
Slack and Booker are scheduled for sentencing Jan. 25 and Feb. 22.
Scarpino said that, on Jan. 10, Slack and Booker acted in concert with each other, another teen, a juvenile and other unnamed and unindicted co-conspirators while engaging in a course of conduct "likely to cause reasonable fear of physical injury and did intentionally cause physical injury to" Schwab, 16.

Authorities said that, after stalking Schwab for some time, the teens — including Booker and Slack — physically confronted and assaulted Schwab on the sidewalk on North Avenue that resulted in a serious physical injury to Schwab.
At the time of the assault, Schwab dropped her house keys, and one of the teens picked them up.

Schwab then followed the group to Dunkin' Donuts at 646 North Ave. to try to get them back.
She was stabbed inside the restaurant and was pronounced dead later that day at Jacobi Medical Center.
Charges against Z'inah Brown, 17, including second-degree murder, are still pending.
A Westchester grand jury indicted Brown, Booker and Slack in March.
