22 Nurse Apprentices to Graduate at White Plains Hospital Ceremony
The Richard P. Biondi Nursing Apprentice Program is a partnership between the hospital and nursing schools in the region.

Twenty-two nurse apprentices will graduate Friday from the White Plains Hospital Center’s Richard P. Biondi Nursing Apprentice Program, the hospital announced.
Hospital President Susan Fox will oversee the graduation ceremony, which is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. in the facility’s auditorium.
The Richard P. Biondi Nursing Apprentice Program is a partnership between the hospital and nursing schools in the region, which was started in 2006 to address the nationwide shortage of nurses.

The highly competitive program (over 100 students applied for 11 slots) is a seven-week, intensive course during which student nurses work in clinical areas and are introduced to the culture of nursing excellence at White Plains Hospital.
Friday’s ceremony will include remarks from Fox and Leigh Anne McMahon, Senior Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer. Annie Norris and Monica Purdy, program coordinators, will present the nursing students with their certificates. Representatives from the Westchester County Executive’s office and the Office of Congresswoman Nita Lowey are also expected to attend.
