LARCHMONT, NY — State police say a New Rochelle man's wild night on the town came to an abrupt end after he was pulled over on the New England Thruway this weekend.

On Friday, just after 11 p.m., state police pulled over a car on I-95 in Larchmont. The driver, Philip Thompson, 29, of New Rochelle, NY, was found to be intoxicated, according to troopers.

While police attempted to take him into custody, Thompson resisted arrest and shoved a trooper towards traffic and against the patrol car, causing damage to it, according to NYSP. After struggling with two troopers, Thompson was eventually taken into custody and taken to SP New Rochelle, where his blood alcohol content was found to be .13 percent, officials said. Troopers said they requested an EMS to the station to evaluate and treat Thompson for abrasions he sustained to his knees while resisting arrest, but he declined to be transported to the hospital.
