Alvin & Friends Hosts Book Signing Party for Cookie Johnson's "Believing in Magic"
NBA wife shares her story in a new memoir "Believing in Magic"
On Wednesday, September 21st Cookie Johnson continued her whirlwind book tour – which has included appearances on Oprah Winfrey’s Super Soul Sunday, Good Morning America and the Steve Harvey Show, plus an article in People Magazine – with a book signing party at Alvin & Friends Restaurant in New Rochelle.
In her new memoir, Cookie Johnson, wife of NBA legend Earvin “Magic” Johnson, shares details of her marriage, motherhood, faith, and how an HIV diagnosis twenty-five years ago changed the course of their lives forever. She spoke about that journey with moderator Angelique Francis before a packed house of rapt listeners, then signed copies of her book. Proceeds from the event, which was hosted by Dr. Traci Alexander, Gwen Clayton, Lori Hall Armstrong, Sandra L. Richards and Mitzi Ambrose-Washington, benefited the New York Covenant Community Development Corporation in support of Isaiah's Room, which provides meals, advocacy and friendship to those in need.
