Anderson Street in New Rochelle to Be Converted to One-way

Officials said the change will add parking and support pedestrian traffic.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — To add parking to the downtown area, a New Rochelle street will be turned into a one-way roadway.

City officials said the approval of turning Anderson Street between North Avenue and LeCount Place into one-way eastbound occurred in November.

The conversion, weather permitting, is planned for Jan. 10.

This will create two new parking lanes, one on either side of the street, and will feature enhanced crosswalks on North Avenue and LeCount Place.

Variable messaging signs have been put in place in advance of the change, and the police will be on hand to implement the switch.
