Black Ice a Possibility Sunday Night into Monday: NWS

Freezing temperatures overnight could cause travel problems.

The possibility of black ice exists in most parts of the Hudson Valley Sunday night into Monday morning.

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Orange, Putnam, Rockland and Westchester counties.

Snow that has melted, combined with freezing temperatures Sunday night into early Monday morning, could mean that residual moisture will refreeze.

This will create slippery conditions on surfaces, so when traveling, you should proceed with caution, the National Weather Service said.
