Breakfast with Santa Highlight of New Rochelle's Residence Park

The annual event brings families and friends together through the Residence Park Neighborhood Association.

Neighbors, friends and family in the Residence Park neighborhood of New Rochelle gathered Saturday for their annual Breakfast with Santa.

Lisa Davis, co-president of the Residence Park Neighborhood Association, said this was the 20th year for the festive occasion, which was held at the . 

"We invite all of the neighbors to come and join us for food, crafts and a visit from Santa," she said.

The children get their picture taken with Santa Claus, which will then get put in a frame they decorated, Davis said. The children also get a gift from Santa.

"It's just a nice way for everyone to get together and enjoy the holidays," she said.

Before and after eating, the children had the opportunity to make crafts, including decorating pinecones, placemats and gift bags. They also made a gift that will be distributed to recipients of Meals on Wheels in the week before Christmas.

Residence Park is comprised of about 400 homes located between Drake and Centre avenues and Main Street and Pelham Road, Davis said.

Rachel Zambrano was attending her second Breakfast with Santa with her son Mason Zambrano.

"It's a fun time to be together with the family," she said.

Davis said volunteers from the association, along with the College of New Rochelle and the New Rochelle High School Spanish Honor Society, helped with the breakfast.
