Brennan, Bartlett Near Milestones at Yonkers Raceway
George Brennan is 15 wins away from 9,000 career victories while Jason Bartlett is 2 wins shy of 6,000.

Harness sulky stars George Brennan and Jason Bartlett, who sit atop Yonkers Raceway’s driver standings, are not surprisingly also sitting on their next major milestones at Empire City Casino‘s historic half-mile track.
Brennan, who had a very rare harness version of the “Golden Sombrero” - he was blanked in nine drives on Tuesday afternoon - is 15 wins away from 9,000 career triumphs. Despite his protestations, the staunch New York Mets’ fan cannot add any of their post-season victories to his personal number, but was at least pleased that the matinee card gave him the evening free to watch his Metsies in Game 1 of the World Series.
Bartlett, after a two–win Tuesday (including a 27-1 [$56.50] bombardier in the finale), stands at 5,998 career victories, just two shy of the 6,000 career victory plateau.

Bartlett, with 411 wins this season at Yonkers, is a mile ahead of Brennan’s 331 dash wins, but that’s an impressive total, too. This 1-2 tandem in the local standings are amongst the finest reinsmen in the world.
The two resume the quest for those lofty milestones with full dance cards during Yonkers’ final Thursday card of the season on October 29th, with first post @ 7:10 PM.

As an outstanding aside, driver Scott Zeron is catching attention, and picked up the Tuesday gauntlet with four winners (mutuels of $4.90, $4.10 [$13.60 early double], $66 and $13.60), while Mark MacDonald’s back-to-back winners returned $43.40 and $69.50, respectively. Those $60-plus mutuels had players salivating. Meanwhile, Mr. Brennan, despite the oh-fer, could kick back for Game 1, which turned out to be a disappointing extra innings loss to the Royals.
