Harlem Renaissance - Cultural Revolution Exhibit at NRPL throughout February

The Lincoln Park Conservancy, Inc. presents Harlem Renaissance - Cultural Revolution at New Rochelle Public Library, an exhibit featuring the writers, painters, musicians and venues of the cultural and political movement of the 1920s and 1930s. The Harlem Renaissance exhibit will be at the Lumen Winter Gallery until the end of February in celebration of Black History Month. A reception will be held on Thursday, February 19th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the gallery and the public is invited to view the history and experience a bygone Era in African American history. Conceived, written and curated by historian Linda Tarrant-Reid with co-curator Stuart Reid and graphic designer Susan Nagib, Harlem Renaissance is an historic journey through the founding of the Nieuw Haarlem suburb in 1658 to its incarnation as the "Black Capital of of the World" in the 1920s and 1930s in New York City. The expansive survey is filled with historic photos, quotes, books and replicas of autos from the 20s and 30s. For more info, visit www.tlpcinc.org
