NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A Mamaroneck High School football standout from New Rochelle will appear on the ABC reality show "Shark Tank" to pitch a unique app we could all use.

ABC is keeping a tight lid on the details of Peter Solimine's appearance on the episode which will air on Friday, but USA Today offered some insight into the invention the tech-savvy former Hudson Valley resident used to try to entice the panel of celebrity judges/investors.

Solimine's business venture is known as "Beulr," an online AI which can sit in on virtual meetings in place of anyone who has something better to do (which is presumably everyone on the planet). The web-based bot will then catch workers up with what was discussed at the meeting at a more opportune time — ideally after the worker bee had a chance for a morning coffee.

The newspaper notes that the app was named in tribute to the character Ferris Bueller of "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" who likewise used the technology of the day to take a much needed break.

According to the company website, the free app will attend, record and transcribe a meeting while giving the appearance that you are participating in the meeting. Beulr has an apt tagline of "Zoom out. Sleep in." The company says Beulr has already attended nearly 1 million meetings, thereby saving real people 765,000 hours of listening to corporate buzzwords.

"It sort of just hit me the day classes went online,” Solimine told the Sarasota Herald-Tribune of his inspiration. “I was stressed about early morning classes because I had been reading 'Why We Sleep' by Dr. [Matthew] Walker, which highlights the importance of sleep, especially for students or those who are trying to learn.”

This isn't Solimine's first high-tech solution to a personal challenge. In 2015, when he was a junior varsity quarterback at Mamaroneck High School, he garnered headlines with a smartphone app to help passers train themselves to more quickly spot open receivers.

We will have to wait until episode 1306 airs on Friday to learn if the Shark Tank judges were as impressed as the rest of us working stiffs with Solimine's state-of-the-art solution to an age-old problem.
