Celebrate Children's Book Week at New Rochelle Public Library

The New Rochelle Public Library will host a “Feast of Fun” Party on May 6, 2023, from 2:00-4:00 pm in celebration of Children’s Book Week 2023.

Children's Book Week is an annual event that celebrates the joy of reading for children of all ages. This year's theme is "Read. Grow. Inspire" and the New Rochelle Public Library has planned a “food-tastic” and fun event for children ages 3-7 years to celebrate..

The “Feast of Fun”party will feature a special story and music session with Foodie Faces authors Bill and Claire Wurtzel. Bill Wurtzel is a visual artist who uses healthy food as his medium. He is also a professional jazz guitarist. Claire Wurtzel has been an educator for over 40 years, helping teachers work effectively with students who struggle with learning and/or behavior challenges. Together, Bill and Claire have done workshops for thousands of children and families that make it fun to learn about nutrition and improve their eating habits.

Children will also have an opportunity to meet and greet the Very Hungry Caterpillar, one of the most beloved book characters of all time. Additionally, children can participate in a fun and creative cookie decorating activity.

The “Feast of Fun” Children’s Book Week Party is free and open to children and their parents/caregivers. The event will take place at the New Rochelle Public Library, 1 Library Plaza, New Rochelle.
