CHOICE of NY has been selected as March’s Stop & Shop Beneficiary

For the entire month of March, store leadership at Stop & Shop’s New Rochelle location at 2425 Palmer Avenue has selected CHOICE of NY to receive a $1 donation from every purchase of the $2.50 Stop & Shop Community Bag.

The Community Bag Program facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the vicinities where shoppers live and work. More than $2.1 million has been donated to over 5,000 local nonprofits since the Program launched in May 2019.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up with Stop & Shop,” said Lynn Kolb, Chief Operating Officer of CHOICE of New Rochelle. “The donation from each Community Bag will go towards the purchase of fresh produce and proteins for our food pantry, providing assistance to those with food insecurity in our community.”

CHOICE of NY, Inc. is a nonprofit based in White Plains, NY. Founded in 1996, CHOICE of NY is an impactful non-profit, based on a peer methodology, that assists consumers with serious mental and chronic physical health challenges receive vital benefits for day to day living.

Our mission is to give those who seek our help the assistance and skills to improve their own lives. This mission is achieved by providing an array of care management services including housing placement, homeless outreach, peer advocacy, community referrals, benefits advocacy, recidivism reduction, vocational services, access to a food pantry and clothing closet and ongoing supports. CHOICE serves over 3,500 clients annually across Westchester, Putnam, Rockland, Dutchess, and Bronx counties.
