Christmas, Hanukkah Events In New Rochelle: Parades, Lightings, More

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — There is no shortage of things to do in New Rochelle to get the winter holiday season off to a rollicking good start.

Christmas and Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights, intersect this year, with Hanukkah running Dec. 18-26. Christmas, of course, is on Dec. 25, but you don’t have to wait to start taking in all the sights and sounds of the holidays.

Tree and menorah lightings in New Rochelle are:

• Dec. 4: Holiday Lighting, Memorial Plaza, 5 p.m.

• Dec. 2 - 11: Holiday Market at the Train Station
• Dec. 4: Rudolph Rocs New Ro, Ruby Dee Park, 3 p.m. - 5 p.m.
• Dec. 7: Selfie with Santa at City Hall
• Dec. 10/11/17/18: 2nd Annual Holiday Pop-Up Market, New Rochelle Public Library, 1:30 p.m. -4:30 p.m.
• Dec. 17: Santa's Parks Tour, starts at 9 a.m.
• Dec. 18: Chanukah Car Parade and Gelt Drop, Chabad of Westchester, starts at 3:30 p.m. in Davenport Park, New Rochelle
• Dec. 27: 10th Annual Kwanzaa Celebration, 7 p.m., Ossie Davis Theater, New Rochelle Public Library
