City Council Tables New Roc Car Dealership
Concern voiced by the community led to the removal of the proposal from the agenda.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The New Rochelle City Council has tabled, at least temporarily, replacing the Stop & Shop in New Roc City with an upscale car dealership. Jared Rice, the councilman who represents that district, was among those who spoke out against the idea.
Rice was concerned the area would become a food desert, the Journal News reported.
The proposal will be revisited at a future council meeting.
