The College of New Rochelle: Volleyball Among NCAA Statistical Leaders
The latest NCAA DIII Volleyball stat rankings were released Tuesday and The College of New Rochelle is the national leader in two categories

NEW ROCHELLE, NY – The latest NCAA Division III Volleyball statistical rankings were released Tuesday and The College of New Rochelle remains the national leader in two categories (through matches of October 26).
With 419 teams ranked, the Blue Angels currently lead the nation in service aces per set and team service aces. CNR averages 3.80 aces per set, and has guided 395 aces over the course of the 2014 season.
The Blue Angels hold a significant margin over The Sage College in service aces per set, as the Gators average 3.47 aces per set. CNR leads Farmingdale State by 14 aces in the team aces category.

In the individual rankings, the Blue Angels are well represented in both aces categories. Tiany Perez Diaz (Junco, PR/Notre Dame) ranks eighth in aces per set (0.83), while Melanie Lopez Soto (0.80) and Fabiola Padilla Rios (0.72) rank 13th and 25th, respectively. CNR is the only institution to have three players ranked in the top 25 (150 ranked). Courtney Parent of Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts leads the nation with a 1.06 aces pet set average.
Perez Diaz also paces the team in total aces with 81, good for fifth in the nation. Lopez Soto (Gurabo, PR/Notre Dame) ranks sixth with 80 and Padilla Rios (San Juan, PR/University Gardens) ranks tenth with 75. The Blue Angels are the only team in Division III to have three players ranked in the top 10 (145 ranked). Sarah Palladino of Farmingdale State holds the top spot with 96 aces this season.

The College of New Rochelle won its second straight Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) Tournament Championship on Sunday, after earning the HVIAC Regular Season Championship with a perfect 5-0 conference record. The Blue Angels are currently 25-7 overall and await a possible ECAC DIII Metro/Upstate Championship berth.
