Downtown New Rochelle Traffic to Change in Advance of Bridge Replacement
City officials are urging motorists to start using the new pattern; up-to-date information available online.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — City officials announced the date on which traffic circulation patterns will change in downtown New Rochelle.
Due to the long-planned replacement of the North Avenue Bridge, and to improve traffic circulation, Station Plaza North will be changed to one way eastbound starting August 22.
With access to the Metro North Train Station and the Transit Center Garage through Memorial Highway, the city is urging motorists coming from the north and south to begin using alternate routes now in advance of the switch.

The city provided the following directions:
- From the north: From North Avenue, take Lincoln, Lockwood or Burling Lane to Memorial Highway and enter Station Plaza North by making a left just after the I-95 overpass.
- From the south: Take Main Street to Memorial Highway and make the first left to loop around to enter Station Plaza North by making a left just after the I-95 overpass.

Variable messaging signs will be posted on North Avenue announcing the new traffic pattern. New Rochelle police will be controlling and monitoring traffic, especially during commuting hours, during the initial change.
