Empire City Casino Jackpot Reaches Record $1 Million

A jackpot on the popular Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars slot machine at Empire City Casino has ballooned past the $1 million mark and is still up for grabs, though perhaps not for long.

Cherie Czerniowski, who oversees slot operations at Empire City, announced that when it hits, it will be the largest jackpot ever to be won at the casino and, she stressed that it can only be won in Yonkers.

“This is not a wide area progressive as seen at most properties,” said Czerniowski. “This jackpot can only be hit here at Empire City.”

The jackpot has guests coming from near and far to try their luck, particularly with several recent record-breaking scores at the Westchester casino. Manuel Esteche of Port Chester hit ‎for $571,000 in February, breaking the previous record jackpot of $509,000 won in November by Moosue Stefern of Bergenfield, New Jersey. Ella of Brooklyn won the third largest jackpot in Empire City’s history with a $222,459 score in February.

There’s no shortage of six-figure jackpots for patrons of Empire City. Seven others are up for grabs, in addition to the million dollar slot, including: $226,213 Betty Boop’s Love Meter; $188,728 Wheel of Fortune Triple Stars; $186,934 Blazing 7’s Hot Shot Progressive Stacked; $161,562 Wheel of Fortune Big Money; $135,022 Blazing 7’s Hot Shot Progressive Wide Area; $131,194 Fireball; $127,690 Fireball.

“There are plenty of jackpots to go around at Empire City, with dozens over $50,000 and hundreds over $10,000,” added Czerniowski. “But the million dollar jackpot will be a true life-changer.”
