Special Event: Living History- "Color My World-A Day with Natural Dyes"
Saturday, May 26, 2012 10 to 5 PM
Join us on our lawn and then visit the historic house museum, as costumed Colonial re-enactors present by demonstration how natural dyes where used to dye yarn and fabric in Colonial times. See how onion skins, black walnut shells and dead bugs, among other natural materials, were used to add color to colonist's lives. Children will have an opportunity to try their own hands at dying with purpose-designed, hands-on activities.
