
There’s an elevated risk for fires to spread in the Hudson Valley Sunday, according to the National Weather Service.
Columbia, Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Westchester counties are all under Special Weather Statements that say the combination of warm temperatures, low daytime relative humidity, gusty winds and dry fuels will lead to “an enhanced threat of fire spread.”
The threat is for Sunday for Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties and Sunday into Monday for the rest of the Hudson Valley.

Additionally, Columbia, Dutchess and Ulster counties are under a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Sunday.
There is a chance of thunderstorms this afternoon and evening as a cold front approaches.

The best chance for storms will be across the western Adirondacks and Mohawk Valley area, where there is a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms.
Isolated storms in that area could produce wind gusts up to 60 mph and small hail.
