Five Students Recuperating After Suffering Injuries in NRHS Fence Collapse

Five high school athletes suffered minor injuries Saturday after a gust of wind blew down a metal fence on top of them at the New Rochelle High School track.

According to a report from the Journal News, the five injured students were NRHS freshman Trinity Garcia and juniors Jennifer Ballesteros, Janet Buenrostro, Maya Cooper and Nijera Manuel. Four were treated at Montefiore New Rochelle Hospital and a fifth was going to see a private physician.

NRHS assistant coach Natalia Brown told the Journal News that the injuries were not serious. "They're going to feel sore for a few days, but just bumps and bruises and rest and check in with your regular doctor."
