Flash Flood Warning Issued For Westchester County
There is a hazard of "life threatening flash flooding" and "thunderstorms producing flash flooding," according to the NWS.

Update: The Flash Flood Warning has been extended to 6:00 p.m.
HUDSON VALLEY, NY — A Flash Flood Warning has been declared for Westchester County.
The National Weather Service says that the Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 6:00 p.m.

"Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 2.5 inches of rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is already occurring," according to the weather service.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall could cause "life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses."
The NWS says that locations that will experience flash flooding include: Yonkers, New Rochelle, White Plains, Port Chester, Rye, Dobbs Ferry, Harrison, Scarsdale, Bronxville, Hawthorne, Mount Vernon and Eastchester.
Drivers should turn around to avoid drowning when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
When it is safe to do so, it is requested that you report observed flooding to local emergency services or law enforcement and request they pass this information to the NWS.
The flash flood damage threat is considerable.
