Geoffrey Is Back: Toys 'R' Us Will Reopen In All NY Macy's Stores

NEW YORK — Geoffrey the Giraffe will be perched on a bench inside every Macy's in the U.S, including the 33 locations in New York.

Macy's announced on Monday that they will be expanding their partnership with WHP Global to bring the Toys 'R' Us brand to "every Macy's store in America" this holiday season.

The Macy's Toys "R" Us shops will begin opening later this month through October 15, according to the announcement.

The in-store shops will range from 1,000 square feet - 10,000 square feet in "flagship" locations in Atlanta, Chicago, Honolulu, Houston, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and San Francisco. The footprints of some of these stores may increase by an additional 500 - 3,000 square feet during the holiday season in order to offer "an even wider assortment of products."

The Toys "R" Us shops will feature a life-size "Geoffrey on a Bench" photo op for families to pose with the famous mascot.

There will also be playful colorful fixtures as well as hands-on demo tables for customers to interact with different toys.

To celebrate the openings, all Macy's stores will host nine days of in-store events from Oct. 15 - 23. Festivities will include family-friendly activities and daily giveaways from brands such as Barbie, LEGO and more.

Since August of last year, Macy's has been offering an expansive assortment of Toys "R" Us products online exclusively at macys.com/toysrus and ToysRUs.com, powered by Macy's digital and fulfillment systems. Macy's first quarter 2022 earnings report showed that the partnership resulted in 15 times higher toy sales than in the comparable quarter prior to the partnership.
