Greg and Evelyn Gonzalez to Receive Family of the Year Award from Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle

Gonzalez Family is Honored at 53rd Annual Boys and Girls Club of New Rochelle Golf Outing on Tuesday on 10/13/15

On Tuesday, October 13, 2015 the Gonzalez Family will receive the 2015 Family of the Year Award from the Boys & Girls Club of New Rochelle. This recognition will take place during the organization’s 53rd Annual Golf Outing at Wykagyl Country Club. This award is presented to the family for its stellar reputation and commitment to supporting the community, New Rochelle schools and charitable organizations.

Greg and Evelyn Gonzalez have lived in New Rochelle for eighteen years raising their three daughters; Jillian (age 26), Kaitlyn (age 17) and Kelsey (age 13).

Greg is an owner of the Manhattan Parking Group (MPG), established in 1965. MPG owns leases and manages over 100 locations throughout the New York metropolitan area. Greg attended NYU and is a graduate of City College of New York. He is a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus at the Church of Saints John & Paul and the co-chair of their annual golf event. Greg is a member of the New Rochelle Police Foundation where he co-hosted a major fundraiser benefiting the New Rochelle Police Foundation.

Evelyn has been actively involved as a parent volunteer in the New Rochelle school district for the past 18 years, whether it was assisting with classroom activities or spring carnivals. This year Evelyn is serving as PTSA president elect for New Rochelle High School, and next year she will be the president of the high school’s PYSA. She served as a permanent substitute teacher at Ward Elementary School for six years. Evelyn not only has a Master’s degree in Education with four NYS certifications, but she is also an accountant with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration. For the past two years, she has been co-chair of New Rochelle Boys & Girls Club.


Jillian is a product of the New Rochelle School District. While at New Rochelle High School Jillian participated in PAVE, was a mentor to freshmen/sophomores, a board member for SADD.

(Students Against Destructive Decisions) and co-captain of the girl’s JV Lacrosse team. Jillian has a Bachelor’s of Science from Quinnipiac University and a Master’s in Education from Manhattanville College. She is presently an ESL teacher in the Greenwich Public School District after working for three years in a charter school in the South Bronx.

Kaitlyn is a senior at New Rochelle High School where she has followed in her sister’s footsteps. She is in the PAVE Program, a mentor to the 9th and 10th graders, a varsity lacrosse player since her freshman year, on the board of Theatreworks and a member of the National Honor Society. Kaitlyn participates in high school productions, most recently starring as Winifred in Once upon a Mattress. In addition, Kaitlyn is a member of the Teen Group of the Church of Saints John & Paul whose mission is to provide for the community.

Their youngest daughter, Kelsey is in the 8th grade at the Albert Leonard Middle School. She, too, is actively involved in her school and community. Kelsey is a member of the National Junior Honor Society. She participates in the Art Club, Modified Track Team and the Builder’s Club, a community service club that provides food for Hope Kitchen and collects items to donate to the residents of New Rochelle.
