Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse to Host Winter Plant Swap on February 28

New Rochelle, NY — Local plant lovers are invited to dig into community and greenery at the Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse Plant Swap on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with set-up beginning at 10:30 a.m.

The event will take place at the Hudson Park Children’s Greenhouse, located at 44 Wildcliff Road in New Rochelle, and offers a fun, welcoming way for indoor gardeners of all experience levels to trade plants, share tips, and meet fellow plant enthusiasts.

Admission is $5, with tickets available at www.hpcgreenhouse.org or at the door. Coffee and bagels will be served.

How the Plant Swap Works

The concept is simple: Give a plant. Get a plant.

Participants may bring up to ten pest-free houseplants and/or cuttings to trade or give away. Dedicated negotiation tables will allow attendees to swap plants directly with one another, while a free table will be available for anyone who wishes to donate a plant they can no longer care for.

Plant Swap attendees are asked to take only one plant from the free table, helping ensure that everyone has a chance to go home with something new.

Two knowledgeable plant experts will be available throughout the event to answer questions and offer guidance:

Helpful Tips for Participants

• To participate, attendees must bring plants to swap
• Arriving early allows time to set up and see what others have brought
• Plants should be clearly labeled or tagged
• Trades should be roughly comparable in desirability or value
• Most importantly: make friends and have fun
