Icy Forecast Forces New Rochelle Schools To Go Virtual Friday
Forecasters say to expect slippery roads and scattered damage in the region Friday as the winter storm system arrives.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The possibility of icy conditions on Friday has caused New Rochelle Public Schools to move to a remote learning model on Friday, the district announced Thursday afternoon.
Forecasters say to expect slippery roads and scattered damage in the region Friday as the winter storm system pummeling the central United States makes its way east, with rain changing to snow and sleet and a cold front freezing everything that's wet.
"The City School District of New Rochelle's highest priority is the safety and well-being of its students, families, faculty and staff," Superintendent Jonathon Raymond said in a message to families and staff on Thursday afternoon. "Due to inclement weather, the school district will shift to virtual learning tomorrow. All students should report to classes from home at their regular start times via Chromebook. All staff, except for certain building and grounds crews, should also work remotely."
