The Sarah Lawrence College MFA Writing Program presents The John and Penny Barr Poetry Reading Series.

The John and Penny Barr Poetry Reading Series celebrates the ever-changing art of contemporary poetry. By bringing notable poets, both prominent and emerging, to read at the College, the program aims to enrich and inspire the community of writers and readers at Sarah Lawrence and in greater Westchester.

Sarah Lawrence College’s nationally recognized MFA Writing Program confers degrees in fiction, poetry, and creative nonfiction. Studies in the program include weekly workshops and craft classes; a yearlong colloquium in which writers and publishing professionals talk with students about every aspect of the writing life; and biweekly one-on-one meetings between student and workshop instructor.
