The Legacy of the Civil War

A talk about the aftermath and meaning of the Civil War

Professor Adrienne Petty of City College explores the significance, aftermath and legacy of the Civil War, helping to culminate the site’s recognition of the sesquicentennial of the national conflict of 1861-1865, at St. Paul’s Church N.H.S., 897 S. Columbus Av., on Sat. Sept. 12, at 1 PM. Dr. Petty’s publications include, Standing Their Ground: Small Farmers in North Carolina Since the Civil War, published in 2013. We also offer tours of the historic church and cemetery, one of the nation’s oldest burial grounds.
