Linda Toscano, Scott Zeron, Chris Wittstruck, Andrew Harris, Richard Munk to Host the “ABC’s of Owning a Harness Racehorse”
Event will take place prior to the $1.8 Million New York Night of Champions.

Yonkers Raceway and the Standardbred Owners Association of New York will present a seminar on owning a harness racehorse featuring driver Scott Zeron, trainers Linda Toscano and Andrew Harris, SOA director Chris Wittstruck, and Funky Munky Stable managing partner Richard Munk at 4:30 PM on Saturday, September 24.
The one-hour event will be held prior to the $1.8 million Night of New York Champions in the “Red Room” on the second floor of Empire City Casino, and will feature a discussion on the rewards and risks of owning a Standardbred racehorse.

The five preeminent horsemen will answer questions on the industry from those in attendance. Toscano became the first female trainer to win the Hambletonian (Chapter Seven) and trainer of the year in 2013; Zeron captured his 3,000th career dash win at Yonkers earlier this month, and is having a career year behind Yonkers Trot and Hambo champion Marion Marauder; Wittstruck is attorney and director for the NY SOA and an award-winning writer for the United States Trotting Association’s website; Harris has campaigned such quality horses as Phil Your Boots on the Yonkers circuit and currently ranks 43rd in the USTA’s list of top-performing trainers; Munk’s Funky Munky Stable offers partnerships in both Standardbred and thoroughbred racehorse ownerships.

About the New York Night of Champions: Saturday night’s $1.8 million New York Night of Champions at Yonkers Raceway is the Empire State’s richest night of racing. Eight, $225,000 sire stakes finals, each sponsored by a prominent breeding farm, feature the best two- and three-year-olds of both sexes and gaits. Art Rooney Pace champion Missile J. is atop the sophomore colt pacers, the Blue Chip Farms Pace, with Tim Tetrick in the bike, and has won four straight. Dick McGuire Trot winner SmallTownThrowDown, runnerup in the Yonkers Trot, heads the sophomore trotting colts division, the Morrisville College Equine Institute Trot, and regular pilot Dan Daley will drive.
