National Weather Service Issues Special Weather Statement Due to Heavy Rain Tuesday

The National Weather Service has issued a Special Weather Statement for Tuesday for southern Westchester County.

Moderate to heavy rain will continue through the afternoon across the Hudson Valley.

Poor drainage areas will see significant ponding, which could be exacerbated by leaves clogging drains.

The NWS said travel delays can be expected from the ponding on area road and caution should be used due to the possibility of hydroplaning.

While the heavier rain will begin to taper off toward sunset, the evening rush hour will see travel delays because of the rain and ponding on roadways.
