New Ro Man Pleads Guilty To Murder, Racketeering Conspiracy

An indictment also accused him of participating in the murder of a one-time leader of the Purple Gang.

A Lucchese family underboss' son faces a maximum of 13 years in prison after pleading guilty to racketeering and murder conspiracy charges Tuesday. Steven Crea Jr., of New Rochelle, admitted to conspiring with his father — underboss Steven Crea — to kill Carl Ulzheimer, a Bonanno family associate.

An indictment also accused Crea Jr. of taking part in the killing of Michael Meldish, a one-time leader of the Purple Gang, the Daily News reported, but that was not part of his guilty plea.

Crea Jr. was arrested in 2017 along with 19 other members of the Lucchese crime family on charges for various crimes such as murder, extortion, money laundering and importation and distribution of contraband, according to a federal indictment.
