Winter is ALWAYS just around the corner! Volunteer to be a Snow Angel NOW before the first snowflake hits the ground!

Winter is ALWAYS just around the corner! And winter means snow. Whether snow brings the joys of childhood -- snow forts, snowballs, and snowball fights, sleds and flying down a hill in the local park, or lying in the snow, flapping one’s arms and legs to make a snow angel -- or the perils of adulthood -- shoveling steps and sidewalks, clearing driveways and snow-covered cars, trudging in slushy streets, or driving on slippery roads to get to work -- now is the time to prepare for the next snow storm.

Unfortunately, New Rochelle has an aging population and disabled persons who still live in their own homes and need help with more rigorous chores like shoveling snow. Fortunately, New Rochelle also has a large community of young people who willingly volunteer their time to help those who cannot always manage.

New Ro Snow Angels is a volunteer program that matches strong, healthy students and young adults who are willing to shovel snow (“angels”) with older and/or disabled persons who cannot (“clients”). Angels expect no compensation. Clients provide the shovels and SnowMelt and the Angels come by and do their magic!
